ABOUT BGBC

The Belgium Ghana Business Council – BGBC is an international organization with members and a network from the private and public sector with Headquarters located in the Economic capital of Belgium, the City of Antwerp, the world center of the Diamond industry and one of the largest Ports in the world, therefore Antwerp serves as a gateway to Africa and Belgium as a gateway to the EU and is a preferred HQ for international organizations/companies such as NATO.

The BGBC is committed to promote the trade and investment relations between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Republic of Ghana.

The BGBC promotes Ghana as an English speaking market ( French is also understood ) with a strategic advantage with the Port of Tema as a gateway to its neighboring countries and within the West-African region, a stable democracy and good infrastructure, which are two important factors for economic development.

According to the New York Times, Ghana is currently one of the fastest growing economies in Africa;

“Ghana is on track to make a remarkable claim for a country mired in poverty not long ago: It is likely to have one of the world’s fastest-growing economies this year, according to the World Bank, the African Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Brookings Institution. Its projected growth in 2018, between 8.3 and 8.9 percent, might be outpace India, with its booming tech sector, and Ethiopia ”

OBJECTIVES

It is crucial for companies to keep up to date with the latest developments in Ghana – related trade and investment relations and to meet with people who are Ghana experts. The most effective way of doing so is by becoming a member of the Belgium Ghana Business Council – BGBC.

HISTORY

The Belgium Ghana Business Council was established on the 12th of August 2019 by Mr. Thomas De Beule (President), Mr. Zvi Donat (Vice-President) and Ms. Paulina Boamah (Secretary/Treasurer).

The founders believe that this is an important step forward in order to cement the trade, investment and diplomatic relations between Belgium and Ghana.

The Business Council is open to all business registered in Belgium and Ghana.

Membership is open to small, medium and large companies and organizations, as well as to individuals.

The BGBC is inviting you to become a member of its vast network of Belgian, and Ghanaian entrepreneurs to find possible clients, partners or to share your business experiences.

The Business Council offers to its members:

  • free consultations at the Business Council for concerns about the business in Ghana and Belgium;
  • events, seminars, conferences, networking (discount of 50%);
  • information on a regular bases through our mailing on business topics;
  • representation to the public authorities (lobbying);
  • business lunch with personalities (diplomatic bodies, business personalities);
  • possibility to organize business meetings at the Business Council;
  • access to useful contacts and recommendations through our network and support with contacts in Ghana and Belgium;
  • a partnership with the private and public sector in Ghana.

For Premium members:

  • visibility on our website through a logo and link to your website;
  • the possibility to get involved in the organization of Business Council’s activities and get visibility (proposing subjects, intervention as a speaker, organization of events…);
  • possibility to publish, documents and news on our website (your event, your studies, articles…) and in our mailing.

Our goal is to involve the members in the life of the Business Council and turn it into a dynamic and proactive network.
